What’s the best way for fans to get your attention on social media?
Honestly it couldn’t be much easier, just send me a message on Instagram! I spend at least an hour a day responding to all my social media comments/messages. A lot of people think that’s a bit much, but I couldn’t imagine not doing it. If my fans didn’t care about me and my music, I wouldn’t be able to make a career out of this. I owe them everything, and I don’t take any of this for granted. I also just really genuinely love getting to know them, they’re all good people.

How important is to you to use your platform for good?
So important, it’s kind of the whole point. If you’re lucky enough to have people who actually care what you think and say, then your biggest responsibility is to be a role model and do something good. I always make it a point to stand up and speak out about the issues I care about, especially given the political climate we’re in right now. Other than that, a lot of the things my fans are going through are the same things I relate to and write about. It’s difficult being a teenager/young adult and trying to fit in, navigate relationships, and figure out who you are. That’s another reason why I spend so much time responding to all my DMs, because I truly care about these people and their lives. Sometimes people just need a friend to talk to, and I’m happy to be that person.

What’s something you’re still hoping to cross off your list this year?
Performing live! Because of the Lyme disease I haven’t done a full fledged show in years, and I miss it so much. I’d like to have a band together and be out performing before the year is up.

How would you describe your personal style? Favorite stores to shop at?
I think the best way I can describe it is edgy boho. I love bohemian prints, my family is Indian and a lot of those patterns come from my culture, so I think that’s a cool way to stay connected to my roots. I’m really into boho jewelry, I’m always wearing a ton of rings. My taste is pretty edgy though, I stick to a lot of dark colors and ripped jeans. Also BOOTS! I don’t give a crap about seasonal fashion haha, it’s boots all year all the time for me.

If you could raid any celeb’s closet, whose would it be?
Dua Lipa, she’s so fucking cool.

Any special message for your fans?
Yes, THANK YOU. I probably say those words more often than anything else, but I hope they know I sincerely mean it. Having been absent from the music scene for so long I was so afraid of releasing new music and just being completely irrelevant. That would have been so heartbreaking, and a part of me was preparing for that as a very real possibility. But the exact opposite thing happened, they’ve been so kind and supportive. Like I said, I don’t take that for granted.

Fast facts:
1) I’m obsessed with dogs. I have a Yorkie named Scooter and even though he might slightly hate me sometimes he’s the best thing in my life 🙂
2) I’m an only child (unless you count Scooter, which I totally do).
3) Game of Thrones is the best television series out there, that is all.
4) I’m a self-proclaimed nerd, I graduated college at NYU in 3 years. I also minored in Psychology.
5) I used to be super into classic rock and heavy metal bands when I was in high school. Yes-even scream-o. I still love it!
